Grosse Pointe Farms, MI – Stefek’s Auctioneers and Appraisers is pleased to announce its upcoming Eclectic Summer Auction, which will be held on Thursday, July 16th at 6:00 pm EST. The auction will be hosted through LiveAuctioneers and Bidsquare, and interested buyers are encouraged to register on one of the two online bidding platforms, or to register as a telephone or absentee bidder. The auction will feature a diverse array of fine art, furniture, and decorative items.

The auction will feature several notable lots across multiple categories. Two noteworthy items include two paintings by Pierre Bittar, who was born in France and currently resides and owns an art gallery in Harbor Springs, MI. Bittar is known for his Mediterranean seascapes, as well as his depictions of the Harbor Springs area in Northern Michigan. The artist’s employment of color and depiction of light is indicative of his admiration for the Impressionist movement.

Another important highlight of the sale is a walnut and brass coffee table designed by Ico and Luisa Parisi for Singer & Sons. Domenico “Ico” Parisi worked in the studio of Italian architect Giuseppe Terragni and studied architecture under Alberto Sartoris at the École Athenaeum in Lausanne, Switzerland, while Luisa Parisi was a student of Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti at the Polytechnic University of Milan. The husband-and-wife duo was well-ensconced in Italy’s architecture and design scene, and both were members of the Alta Quota architecture group in Como, of which Ico Parisi was a founder. The pair consciously integrated their architectural training into the realm of furniture design, and the featured coffee table is a prime example of such a synthesis.
