In 2000, Lori Stefek opened Stefek Estate Sales and quickly became a leader in
that industry, conducting approximately 50 estate and moving sales each year.
With the quality of items she was selling at the estate sales, she knew that many of
the items deserved a global market. So after brokering items for several years to
local and regional auction houses, she decided to open Stefek’s Auctioneers
& Appraisers in 2007.

Stefek’s has steadily increased their sales approximately 20% each year and
has secured itself as an international auction house that services the globe. We consider ourselves a “boutique”
auction house because we not only help our clients with all phases of liquidating an estate, but we also provide
unparalleled customer service to each client and every item that we consign. As an international boutique auction
house, our mission is to utilize Stefek’s expertise and international reach to provide our customers with a seamless
experience from appraisal, clean out, estate sale, and/or auction, and to achieve the strongest price and highest
levels of service.

In 2004, Stefek’s began offering appraisal services to its client base. Lori Stefek is a certified appraiser of personal
property with the CAPP designation from the International Society of Appraisers (ISA) and is USPAP certified.
The CAPP designation is the highest level that the ISA bestows upon its members. Lori Stefek partners with many
CPAs, attorneys, trust departments and banks in Metro Detroit as well as the tri-state area, Florida and Texas
providing their clients with the proper type of appraisal (estate tax, charitable donation, divorce, or equitable
distribution) needed.

In 2004, Stefek’s added a clean out service because of increasing client demand for this type of service. Many of
our clients did not have enough items to conduct an estate auction by themselves, so we created a niche.
For a flat fee, we sell what we can through private sales, donate the useful items to charity and clean out the home.
We have conducted over 1,000 clean outs over the last ten years. Over the last ten years, Lori Stefek has sold over
half million dollars at auction from items she has recovered from the clean outs – ensuring that her clients get
the best possible return.

In 2005, after working for years with the major banks, trust departments, CPAs, and attorneys in Metro Detroit,
as well as other states across the country, we began brokering high end antique items, furniture, and fine art to
local and regional auction houses. Lori Stefek, at this time, obtained her diploma from the Missouri Auction
School (MAS) and graduated in 2006. She also donates her time to multiple local charities as their guest
auctioneer helping each charity to raise thousands of dollars
